The pretty River Eamont flows out of Ullswater and amongst the meadows of Edendale until it reaches the River Eden itself. It took a walk around Eamont Bridge village and Brougham: a walk to which I gave a page earlier: the Eamont Bridge and Brougham Walk. Then I added on a loop to Yanwath.
It is a pleasant walk, on a level, around thousands of years of history: the Stone Age at one end, Roman and mediaeval at the other, and Brougham Hall, of many ages, in the middle. Mainly though, it is the fields and the playful river.
