
Saddle Island

Location: 60° 36' 58" S 44° 49' 59" W
off Route Point, Laurie Island, N of Weddell Islands, 'is almost divided into two by a narrow channel strewn with boulders'; was charted by Weddell, 12 January 1823, and named descriptively. The island was recharted by the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition, 4 February 1903. The island was further charted by Discovery Investigations in 1933 and shown as two islands.
