South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands

Location: 54° 16' 55" S 36° 50' 5" W
rising to c. 1400m at head of Christensen Glacier, near NW end of Allardyce Range, was named Sørlle Buttress following the South Georgia Survey after Petter Sørlle (1884-1933), Norwegian whaling captain and inventor who in 1922 took out a patent for his whale slip-way; first Manager of the United Whalers station at Stromness.
