
Penguin Point
(Coronation Island)

Location: 60° 30' 58" S 45° 55' 59" W
NW point of Coronation Island and NW entrance point of Tønsberg Cove, was charted by Powell, 7 December 1821, but the name from the numerous penguins seen was applied to the N extremity of Governor Islands (q.v.) lying off the point. The area was recharted by Discovery Investigations in 1933. The point was surveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from Signy, 1956-58.
