Location: 71° 18' 46" S 72° 42' 9" W
between Beethoven Peninsula and Eroica Peninsula, SW Alexander Island, following map compilation by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1959 from air photographs taken by the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition in 1947, was named after Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn (1809-47), German composer, in association with the names of other composers in this area.
