Location: 69° 0' 9" S 70° 13' 35" W
rising to c. 600m on SE side of Roberts Ice Piedmont, N Alexander Island, was photographed from the air by the British Graham Land Expedition, 15 August 1936 and 1 February 1937; surveyed from the ground by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from 'Stonington Island' in 1948; named after Hengist, Saxon chieftain who, with his brother Horsa (Horsa Nunataks, q.v.), led the first Saxon bands to settle in Britain and ruled Kent, c.455-88.
