W of Patuxent Range and Neptune Range, Pensacola Mountains, flowing N into Ronne Ice Shelf, was seen from the air by Grupo Aeronaval UT 78 on the first Argentine flight to the South Pole in January 1962; photographed from the air by the United States Navy in 1964 and named Foundation Ice Stream after the US National Science Foundation, a prime supporter of the United States Antarctic Research Program.
