Location: 64° 35' 36" S 61° 3' 6" W
rising to c.1500m on S side of Herbert Plateau, N central Graham Land, was photographed from the air by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition, 1956-57, and surveyed from the ground by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from 'Hope Bay', 1961-62; in association with the names of pioneers of overland mechanical transport grouped in this area, named after Guillaume Fender, of Buenos Aires, inventor of an early type of track-laying vehicle (British Patent 1168 of 1882, taken out by J. C. Mewburn).
