Location: 73° 30' S 73° W
W coast of Palmer Land from Buttress Nunataks to N tip of Rydberg Peninsula in 80°06'W, was roughly mapped from the ground by the United States Antarctic Service in December 1940, and further reconnoitred on the United States Antarctic Service flights; named Robert English Coast after Capt. Robert A.J. English, the United States Navy, Executive Secretary of the United States Antarctic Service; commanding Bear of Oakland, Byrd Antarctic Expedition, 1933-35; editor of 'Sailing directions for Antarctica'. The coast was photographed from the air by the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition, 23 December 1947. The whole coast was photographed from the air by the United States Navy, 1965-66.
