
Eagle Island

Location: 63° 39' 36" S 57° 29' 22" W
rising to 560m in Prince Gustav Channel, Trinity Peninsula, was first sighted, although not recognized as an island, by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition in 1902-03; surveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from 'Hope Bay' in November 1945 and named after the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey ship Eagle (Eagle Cove, q.v.).
