Location: 64° 43' 2" S 64° 16' 42" W
NW entrance point of Wylie Bay, Anvers Island, was roughly charted by the German Antarctic Expedition, 1873-74 (Stieler, 1875, map 11); further charted by the French Antarctic Expedition, 1903-05, and named Cap Albert de Monaco after HSH Prince Albert I of Monaco (1848-1922), a patron of the expedition and of the French Antarctic Expedition, 1908-10, who supported the oceanographic programmes; Founder of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco (1910) and of the Oceanographic Institute, Paris (1911). The cape was photographed from the air by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition and surveyed from the ground by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from 'Arthur Harbour', 1956-57.
