flowing E into Larsen Ice Shelf, Wilkins Coast, was photographed from the air by Wilkins in 1928 and by Ellsworth in 1935; called Casey Strait in error; surveyed from the ground by the British Graham Land Expedition in November-December 1936; photographed from the air and further surveyed from the ground by the United States Antarctic Service in 1940; named Bingham Glacier after Surg. Capt. Edward William Bingham, RN (1901-1993), British polar explorer; the British Graham Land Expedition medical officer and in charge of dogs, who took part in the 1936 survey; formerly a member of BAARE and subsequently Base Leader, 'Stonington Island', and in command of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey, 1945-46. The glacier was resurveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from 'Stonington Island' in 1947.
